Yuzvendra Singh Chahal (born July 23, 1990) is a former chess player and cricketer from India. In Indian domestic cricket, he represents Haryana. He is now a member of the IPL’s Rajasthan Royals franchise. He has represented India in both One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) cricket matches, as well as in chess.
He’s a left-handed leg-break bowler. Chahal became only the second player in T20I history to take six wickets, and the first Indian to do so. In an international cricket match, he was the first concussion substitute to be named Man of the Match.
On 11 June 2016, he made his One Day International (ODI) debut against Zimbabwe at Harare Sports Club. Richmond Mutumbami was his first ODI wicket. On June 18, 2016, he made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut against Zimbabwe in Harare.
He became the first Indian bowler to record a five-wicket haul in T20Is on February 1, 2017, with scores of 6/25 against England. Yuzvendra Chahal was also the first legspinner to take a fifer and a six-wicket haul in a T20I, and he still holds the record for the finest legspin bowling in T20I history (6/25).

Yuzvendra Chahal was born on 23 July, 1990 to K.K. Chahal and Sunita Devi Chahal. Mumbai Indians signed Chahal for the first time in 2011. He only played in one IPL game in three seasons, against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 24. In the Final against Royal Challengers Bangalore, he took 2 for 9 in 3 overs to help Mumbai defend their 139-run total and win the match. He was purchased by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for INR 10 lakh at the 2014 IPL players auction.
He was picked to the 14-man squad that toured Zimbabwe in 2016 and made his debut against Zimbabwe on June 11, 2016 at Harare Sports Club. On 18 June 2016, he made his T20I debut against Zimbabwe in Harare, taking Malcolm Waller for his first T20I wicket. Yuzvendra Chahal was the first legspinner to take a fifer and a six-wicket haul in a T20I, and he holds the record for the finest legspin bowling in T20I history (6/25).
He had the most T20I wickets (23) of any bowler in 2017. He was picked to India’s squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup in April 2019. He finished the World Cup with a total of 12 wickets. He became India’s third bowler to take 50 wickets in T20Is in November 2019, during the third T20I against Bangladesh.
