He was Cashier at the British colonial office so that the family moved to Zanzibar. When the family had emigrated to England Freddie Mercury was regarded as a citizen of the UK and Colonies on 2 June 1969. Freddie Mercury had taken musical classes in India at the age of seven while he was living with his relatives. In February 1963 he moved back to Zanzibar where he joined his parents at their flat.
It was the time of the revolution of the Sultan of Zanzibar in which thousands of ethnic Arabs and Indians were killed. So the family of Freddie Mercury escaped from that place to 19 Hamilton Close, Feltham Middlesex, England.
